FFF Funding for Submerge

Icebird Studios recently received a funding from the FFF Bayern for our Tactical Survival Game Submerge. The funding secures the next stages of Submerge’s development process.

“Submerge” is a fast paced, tactical survival game with main focus on thrilling multiplayer matches. It combines the player’s passion for Hero Units from “Dota” with the beloved tactical fighting and moving behaviors from “Starcraft” – but without any waiting times for matches to begin! Players fight other players with their customized army to steal “life time” points from each other to survive longer than everybody else in the game.
In the meta-game players unlock, upgrade and choose the right troop types for the next match. Players have to master the composition and positioning of their army as well as the selection and timing of a huge variety of different abilities.
The gameplay in “Submerge” is based on proven concepts of RTS games. The survival component improves the player experience by removing needless waiting times.

The preproduction is nearly finished and Submerge will enter early alpha phase by end of this year. Our next goal is to release an early access version via Steam in Summer 2014.
